ore than years ago, Yael Glick of Westfield, NJ promised her sister Karyn that she would never be forgotten. For nearly a year, Karyn fought valiantly to overcome chronic myelogenous leukemia, which was diagnosed one month before her 14th birthday.

Despite receiving the best medical treatment currently available, including a bone marrow transplant, Karyn succumbed to the disease just eleven months later on March 18th, 1986.

She was a truly unique youngster and managed to impact upon the lives of all whom she touched. Although her life was far too short, her memory now lives on through the Karyn Research Fund which gives life to the young leukemia victims.

The Karyn Research Fund has committed itself to supporting a research fellow, selected by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of America. We sponsor the research of this special fellow who is exploring new avenues as a means of discovering a cure for pediatric cancers.
